Due to continued growth, my client is looking to hire an Audit Senior to join their team in their mid sized accountancy practice in North Co. Dublin. In this role as an Audit Senior, you will be involved in leading the fieldwork for a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors including construction, distribution, manufacturing and logistics. You will also be involved in client engagements and the development of strong working relationships internally with peers and externally with new and existing clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Leading the fieldwork on scheduled audit clients
- Ensure that audit planning is completed in line with ISA (Ireland), that the appropriate audit risks are documented, and that the fieldwork testing is assigned to the appropriate members of the engagement team
- Engaging with clients to ensure all necessary audit evidence is collected and preparing work papers reflecting the audit of that information
- Supervise the junior members of the audit team during fieldwork, provide on the job coaching and review their working papers upon delivery
- Provide feedback to trainees at the completion of each audit engagement. Review financial statements and ensure compliance with FRS 102
- Ensure the engagement manager is appropriately briefed as to the progress on the job and escalate audit issues to the manager on a timely basis
- Ensuring a consistent approach to audit quality on all engagements
Qualifications & Skills:
- ACCA, ACA, or CPA qualification
- 3+ years of audit experience in a practice environment
- Previous experience leading audits from start to completion
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to provide guidance and training to others
- Commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable client facing
- Good technical knowledge of FRS 102, ISA’s and IFRS
- Good computer skills in MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with CaseWare would be an advantage.
